Commercial Gas Engineer

- £175 per week on-call payment on a 1 in 4 rota

- Carrying out reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Completing plumbing and gas repairs across commercial sites
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Installing pipework, TMVs, water heaters, and plumbing systems
- Commissioning and testing commercial heating and hot water systems
- Completing servicing, inspections, and compliance checks
- Attending breakdowns and emergency call-outs
- Supporting mechanical refurbishment projects
- Updating records using mobile and tablet systems
- Working safely within school and public sector environments
- Supporting wider compliance and remedial works alongside mechanical and electrical teams
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering
- Commercial and Domestic Gas qualifications including:
- CCN1
- CENWAT
- CODNCCO1
- CDGA1
- CIGA1
- Unvented Hot Water qualification (G3)
- Minimum two years’ experience within a similar role
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience carrying out fault finding and remedial works
- Good communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- IT competent using handheld or tablet systems
- Experience working within schools or public buildings
- Electrical safety awareness
- IPAF or PASMA
- OFTEC
- Experience working on oil-fired systems
- Air source or AC knowledge
- Full-time role working 40 hours per week
- Expected on site from 8:00am daily
- Earlier starts may be required depending on client requirements
- Time and a half after 6:00pm Monday to Friday
- Time and a half on Saturdays until 12:00pm
- Double time after 12:00pm on Saturdays and all day Sunday
- Weekend and out-of-hours call-outs paid door-to-door
